The Ponsse story has been told around the world for 55 years. Who would have thought that the mixed-breed and low-bodied Ponsse dog that roamed the village of Vieremä would still remember its name decades later?
“We wanted to introduce the Ponsse dog for the first time in our history. The story of the dog itself has been familiar since the company was founded, but this sympathetic protagonist has never been introduced before,” tells Juha Vidgren, Senior Advisor in Public Relations of Ponsse.
“We would like to express our gratitude to the Ponsse dog’s owner family, the heirs of Manne Tarvainen, whose family album contains a photograph of the family hunting dog, which is now seeing the light of day after 55 years. We would also like to thank the video script, which Ponsse Oy’s first engineer Jouko Kelppe wrote back in 1973 for Ponsse’s first brochure. Warm thanks also to the narrator, Markku Pölönen – the story of the Ponsse dog was given its due voice.”

Sunny logging day in Rantsila
The fifth day of Ponsse 55th anniversary logging tour was celebrated in Rantsila. After the sky cleared from the morning fog, we were able to enjoy the event in sunny weather.

The fourth day of the anniversary tour was celebrated in Mänttä-Vilppula. A large group of forestry professionals from South Ostrobothnia and Central Finland arrived to the event.
International atmosphere at the anniversary logging tour in Vieremä
The Vieremä event of the anniversary logging tour was held in a rather international atmosphere in the business village near the Ponsse factory. Important partners were remembered at the event, and the Ponsse dog made his first appearance.
