Brand new Ponsse Collection Workwear collection

The renewed Ponsse Collection Workwear collection has been designed to meet the specific needs of a forest machine operator on worksites. The brand new collection brings in high-quality and comfortable materials, an improved fit and more functional details to make work smoother in all conditions. The result was a refined collection where practicality, safety and brand-oriented design go hand in hand without compromises.

The aim of the Workwear collection’s renewal is to develop Ponsse’s own workwear line, designed for the forest machine operator, that meets the user needs and is guaranteed Ponsse quality. Ponsse Collection’s Manager Laura Kouvalainen, responsible for the Ponsse Collection business and range, describes the background of the renewal: Based on the feedback we have received from Ponsse’s customers, there has been a need for a comprehensive renewal of the workwear collection. We wanted to respond to this feedback and modernize our workwear collection. At Ponsse, we are a forerunner with the new Workwear collection, as there have been no such responsible and fully suitable clothes for forest machine drivers. The collection is now a clear and coherent entity for customers.”

Our new workwear has been developed in close cooperation with Finland’s leading product media company Innoflame and Touchpoint, specialising in responsible workwear solutions. Collaborative development is reflected in the details, ergonomics and user-friendliness of the workwear.

“Ponsse’s workwear collection is designed and manufactured in close cooperation with Ponsse — precisely to meet their needs. The collection combines practicality, protectivity, and the strong visual identity of the Ponsse brand. For us, it is important that the workwear works, feels good and withstands heavy usedescribes Jari Nieminen, Innoflame’s Account Manager for Ponsse.

From the very beginning, the design process has been carried out with real users of the workwear. The design began when a workwear designer visited a worksite to learn about the machine operator’s working conditions, ergonomics and everyday challenges. User testing has also been a crucial part of the process, and new clothes were tested under the right working conditions, and based on feedback, concrete changes were made.

The collection is manufactured by the Finnish company, Touchpoint, one of the leading manufacturers of responsible workwear in the Nordic countries. Touchpoint’s operations are based on circular economy, responsible material choices and transparent production chains. The new workwear collection has been carefully manufactured in the Baltics. Touchpoint’s CEO Noora Salonoja describes: Responsibility is not a separate part of our operations — it is the foundation of our entire business. We choose materials and production methods so that they are resistant to both use and critical examination. In Ponsse’s Workwear collection this is reflected, for example, in the use of recycled polyester and new bio-based, flexible polyester, as well as in minimizing material waste at all stages of design.

The project is visible in many ways in the novel Workwear collection. New workwear is mainly made from recycled materials, without compromising durability or technical properties. The colour scheme of the clothes is clear, bringing three colour options: black, yellow and orange. The details follow the characteristics of the Ponsse Collection and finish the new Workwear collection. Moreover, the workwear is clearly tailored, following Ponsse’s own size chart. Each work jacket is also customisable for the customer, in which case the customer can order work clothes with, for example, their company’s logo and operator’s name.

Some products meet the requirements of EN20471 class 1 or 2 for visible protective clothing.

The renewal of the workwear collection is aligned with the broader Ponsse Collection brand renewal, with the aim to strengthen the brand image and introduce high-quality products to an even wider audience. The new workwear collection will be increasingly visible on worksites around the world and will be further developed based on customer feedback. Our vision is to build the best forest machine operator’s Workwear collection on the market, which combines feeling, need and functionality in a way that supports the employee throughout each workday.
