Loggers Cup and Einari Cup delivered speed, emotion, and true tournament spirit
Loggers Cup and Einari Cup once again brought together ice hockey enthusiasts to show how a fastpaced, communal, and good spirited game unites Ponsses employees, customers, and partners. In Timrå, Sweden, the Loggers Cup champion was decided in a thrilling Finland–Sweden final, while in Kuopio, Finland, the Einari Cup offered its familiar dose of lively tournament atmosphere.
Sweden claimed the Loggers Cup title after a shootout
The Loggers Cup gathered Ponsse people and customers for the third time at the SCA Arena in Timrå, Sweden. The tournament featured the reigning champion Buffalo from Finland and the Swedish teams Mammothand Scorpion.
The final showcased a classic Finland– Sweden showdown between Buffalo and
Scorpion. Buffalo came back from a two goal deficit to take the lead, but Scorpion caught up and ultimately secured the championship in a shootout with a final score of 5–3. Captain Ola Sandström lifted the Loggers Cup trophy for the first time in Swedish colors.
Einari Cup once again delivered cheerful tournament hockey
The traditional Einari Cup brought Ponsse customers, partners, and employees to the Niirala Monttu rink to test their skills in ice hockey.
This year, an alumni team also joined the event, consisting of players over 50 who had participated in the Einari Cup in the past – promising both nostalgia and strong competitive spirit. Alumni teams PAZ and S15 opened the tournament with a balanced and nostalgia filled game, which S15 ultimately won 4–2.
In the final, the energetic teams Fox and Beaver faced off. Fox dominated the game from start to finish and capitalized efficiently on their chances, earning a convincing 6–2 victory and the tournament championship.
