President Alexander Stubb visited Ponsse’s factory
On Tuesday, November 11, President of Finland Alexander Stubb visited Ponsse’s factory in Vieremä as part of his trip to Northern Savonia, Finland. The visit was significant for Ponsse.
“President’s visit was an important occasion for us and a great opportunity to showcase Finnish technological expertise and the manufacturing of the world’s best forestry machines. The President’s visit to the factory crowned Ponsse’s anniversary year: we have been logging worldwide for 55 years,” says CEO Juho Nummela.
Along the roadside, a large crowd of local residents gathered to welcome the President, creating a warm atmosphere right from the start of the visit.

During the visit, the President met Ponsse’s management and owners and spoke with employees during a factory tour. The tour showcased Ponsse’s production facilities and forestry machine technology. The President also had the chance to explore the cabin of the Scorpion King harvester and received a Ponsse hockey stick as a souvenir.

Ponsse is one of the most significant employers in the Upper Savonia region and a global leader in its field.
“We have an excellent forestry machine factory, and it was a pleasure to present its top-level expertise and people. We are delighted that the region’s export industry and our technology professionals are in the spotlight,” says Juho Nummela.
