Production field day

In January, a field day was held for employees working in parts manufacturing and assembly at Ponsse’s factory. During the day, the employees visited the Iisalmi logistics centre, the Reman workshop and a logging site. At the local logging site, they were able to ride in forest tractors and harvesters and see forest machines in action.

The event was part of personnel training and induction, as well as a get-together around a campfire enjoying freshly brewed coffee. Conversations around the campfire focused on occupational safety and health, the general outlook in the industry and R&D. The common denominator for all discussions was safe and sustainable operation.

“Often at the factory, a single employee can only see their own piece of the puzzle and the big picture may remain unclear. One of the goals of the day is to discuss shared safety goals and realise how everyone’s work is linked together,” says Production Director Esa Penttinen.

“When working as a team, the most concrete result is the forest machine, to which everyone has contributed through their own input.”

“A more informal gathering builds team spirit, and conversations come natural. Many who participated in the event were able to ride in a forest machine and visit the logistics centre for the first time. The day was a wonderful experience in many ways,”
Penttinen sums up.
