PONSSE High-Preci­sion Posi­tio­ning is a solu­tion that helps the mac­hine ope­ra­tor know the exact loca­tion of both the mac­hine and the har­ves­ter head. This enables log­ging ope­ra­tions to be kept effec­tive even in unpre­dic­table and cons­tantly chan­ging con­di­tions.

1. By defi­ning the exact loca­tion of the har­ves­ter head and pre­sen­ting it on a map view, High-Preci­sion Posi­tio­ning can sig­ni­ficantly improve har­ves­ting pro­duc­ti­vity.

2. With the new PONSSE High-Preci­sion Posi­tio­ning sys­tem, not only the mac­hine itself, but also the posi­tion of the har­ves­ter head can be loca­ted with an accu­racy of less than half a metre. In prac­tice, the sys­tem can be used to locate the loca­tion of an indi­vi­dual stump or stack.

2. The ope­ra­tor of the har­ves­ter can clearly see on a map view the boun­da­ries of the area to be har­ves­ted and the areas that should be avoi­ded. Every stump loca­tion is saved in the pro­duc­tion file. The ope­ra­tor of the forwar­der can see even more preci­sely the path made by the har­ves­ter.

3. Uti­li­sing industry-lea­ding navi­ga­tion and loca­tion tools, as well as Ponsse’s own advanced tech­no­lo­gies such as Active Crane, High-Preci­sion Posi­tio­ning can lift the relia­bi­lity bar to the level con­ven­tio­nal posi­tio­ning sys­tems often fail to reach.

4. High-Preci­sion Posi­tio­ning is avai­lable for all PONSSE har­ves­ters equip­ped with Active Crane, and it can also be ret­ro­fit­ted.
