Ponsse is expan­ding its selec­tion of har­ves­ter heads. The new PONSSE DH7 har­ves­ter head is desig­ned for the deman­ding har­ves­ting of euca­lyp­tus plan­ta­tions, where its strong debar­king capa­bi­li­ties enable high pro­duc­ti­vity.

“The DH7 offers a more efficient and durable solu­tion for har­ves­ting euca­lyp­tus plan­ta­tions. We have deve­lo­ped it from an ope­ra­ting cost pers­pec­tive: easy main­te­nance, bet­ter struc­tu­ral dura­bi­lity and impro­ved fuel eco­nomy have a direct impact on the pro­duc­ti­vity of har­ves­ting,” says Markku Savo­lai­nen, Ponsse’s Pro­duct Mana­ger for har­ves­ter heads.

The DH7 har­ves­ter head can be used on Ponsse har­ves­ters (Cobra, Ergo and Bear) and on track-based mac­hi­nes.

Cus­to­mer-orien­ted deve­lop­ment for plan­ta­tion har­ves­ting

The feed speed of the new har­ves­ter head is up to six met­res per second. The DH7 comes as stan­dard with the Opti 5G infor­ma­tion sys­tem and the Opti­FeedCont­rol logic, which simpli­fies the cont­rol of the har­ves­ter head and the debar­king of euca­lyp­tus stems.

In terms of optio­nal equip­ment, an HH360 rota­tor is avai­lable, enabling unli­mi­ted rota­tion of the har­ves­ter head and thus inc­rea­sing the smooth­ness of har­ves­ting. The rota­tor also extends the ser­vice life of the con­nec­tion hoses even furt­her.

The pre­vious Ponsse debar­king har­ves­ter head model (H7HD Euca) will also remain in the pro­duct range, mea­ning that cus­to­mers can choose the pro­duct that best suits their ope­ra­tions. Both har­ves­ter heads offer reliable mea­su­re­ment accu­racy for har­ves­ting pro­fes­sio­nals.
